I was fired- why am I still suffering?

Many employees feel that in hindsight of a termination, the onslaught of a denial of unemployment combined with the lack of empathy from banks, mortgage companies, and bill collectors are in fact a double helping of The Pink Slip.

Some feel that in many ways , when there is no documented reason for justification of said termination, they still reap the pain. Fighting to obtain on employment benefits or Short term disability benefits are a daily task. Cobra is as such that even with full unemployment the chances of affording it are few.

Daily occurrences make being at home intolerable; when an opportunity finally is presented for employment, the much dreaded response of saying "yes, i was laid off", ads what most have described as insult to injury.

Why is it that when downsized the pain is continuous? Why can't, especially in this "educated environment," persons actually empathize with individuals in this predicament and assist more and dismiss less?

I trust that you, followers of the HR Corner, will take heed and lend an ear---soon it may be you. Which reaction would you prefer?
